Getting Back to Drawing

It's so easy to put aside all the things I love doing when there's a toddler and a newborn and a new home to manage. But I've discovered that taking the time to do things for myself, that make me happy also make me a better parent, wife and overall human being.

So lately I've been taking some time to get back to drawing. I've been drawing since I was a little girl and have always loved doing it. It's an activity that truly makes me happy and relaxed. Every time I pick up the pencil, charcoal, brush, etc I immediately feel all the stresses of the day melt away.

With so much land, drawing outdoors has become my go-to. I love taking out my portable easel (which I bought at a thrift store many years ago for $15) and just sketching whatever is out there. Mostly it's been the trees and our house, but I'm hoping to expand to painting and more challenging subject matter very soon.

Here are a few photos if you'd like to see. Also there's a little video at the end of me in action!
