We aren't big cocktail drinkers here at the Goss House opting instead for a great glass of wine or beer. But in an effort to change things up I did a little research and discovered that a great spring cocktail can be a thing of beauty. It's a refreshing and light way to have a drink during the hot spring afternoons here. Now that our garden beds are fully loaded I thought it would be fun to figure out a way to include fresh herbs in everything we make!
Patrick does love a sip of whiskey with his after lunch espresso so we always have some on hand. We've discovered this local North Carolina one and he loves it. So I set out to create a whiskey cocktail worthy of sipping on the porch this spring.
Of course, choosing the cocktail glass to serve this in was part of the fun. Ours are a beautiful simple low glass that is perfect for sipping or a cocktail. I gave them to Pat as a gift years ago so wasn't able to find the source for you. But, I also love these and these.
Based on this recipe, here is my take on it.
