Her Own Magic Mountain

We loved going to Seven Magic Mountains during our trip to Las Vegas. Helen seemed engaged and a little stunned as we walked among the towers of colorful stacked rocks. I kept wondering to myself if she would ever remember this moment. It seems unlikely, but there's a part of me that wishes she could. That's when I had an idea!

As you can see in this little video, she took it upon herself to collect rocks during our visit. We brought them back with us so that she could make her own tiny magic mountain to display on a shelf in her room.

I'm hoping this activity was really fun for her, but also as we sat outside on a hot day painting rocks with fluorescent paint, I asked her about the time we went to see the rocks in the desert. I asked her if she remembers it, and explained to her that we were making our own version.

She nodded and gave her typical, enthusiastic, "Ya!" but mostly she wanted to dip her hands into the little paint containers. I don't know if any of this really means anything to her, but it sure was fun and now, if nothing else, she has a cute rock sculpture in her room.
