This past weekend we celebrated one year living in Raleigh! I can't believe it's been that long but at the same time I feel like this has been our home for much longer than one year.
Reflecting back on this past year here are a few things I've come to appreciate about the move.
-Starting over in a new city makes everything feel exciting and fresh! After living in one place for so long, I had become so accustomed to doing things a certain way. Moving has made me see everything anew.
-Raleigh has a slower place of life that I adore.
-The people here are genuinely nice and being friendly is a way of life.
-Driving here is a pleasant experience, unlike in Boston where I DID NOT like driving at all.
-The restaurant/coffee/food scene is great! There are so many wonderful restaurants to try and we have been loving exploring this vibrant community around food. (We are standing under the "I Believe in Raleigh" sign at Sola Coffee Cafe. We love this spot for it's great coffee and vibe)
-The craft beer scene is excellent! There are so many craft breweries and bottle shops that we have come to love. If you follow me on Instagram you know from watching my Instastories that we've been trying a new one every Friday, all summer long.
-Living in a home that has a close connection with nature has been life-changing. I've always been a city girl and have, since moving here, come to appreciate how important having a close relationship with nature is.
-Renovating a house is a ton of fun and keeps my creative side engaged which for me is always necessary.
I hope you had a lovely weekend!
