Everything is getting a makeover around here including our mantel. I love how a simple change to the things on the matel can revive the entire feel of the house. Because this is such a prominent place in our home, a little change make a huge difference.
Here's what I've done.
GET THE LOOK:
You may remember the original styling of the mantel way back when we first moved in. I wanted a simple, clean look but that had a little bit of polish.
I still love those principles so decided to follow them when doing a spring refresh.
+ I started with symmetry this time by placing the potted grass on either side of the framed map. This creates the base for the rest of the design.
+ I then kept it all balanced by adding similar scaled elements right next to the grass. The stack of books with the house on top and the framed goat photo with antlers play off each other and echo the symmetry without being identical.
+ Finally to give the arrangement a bit of movement I placed the two black houses on one side leaving the other side empty.
Done! What do you think?
Are you refreshing your mantel this spring? Send me a photo, I'd love to see.
