I'm so excited to share our living room with you today! I've been working on this space for so long that I almost forgot how it looked when we first moved in. It's amazing what white paint, new lighting and plants can do to complete transform the feel of a room.

SHOP THE POST:
If you are new to Goss House and don't know our story, let me introduce you. A year and a half ago our little family bought a ranch on two acres in rural Raleigh, NC. We've been renovating it ever since. This room, originally designed to be the dining room, presented a particularly difficult challenge. The space is bright with high ceilings, but it's narrow and open to a couple of other rooms in the house. I wanted to define the space by adding a statement light fixture as well as using the large, black womb chair as a way to define the edge of the space.
One of my favorite design features in this room is the gallery wall above the sofa. I included lots of personal pieces, while being careful to choose only art that is within the established, neutral color palate. The throw pillows soften the starkness of the white walls and the green brings the outside right in.
Once I incorporated a thick cable knit throw, fresh flowers and branches and warm wood details, it made the space feel so warm and cozy. We love lounging in here during the day or after the children go to bed to watch a movie.
Well, there it is! I am in love with every detail. I'd love to hear your thoughts too, so leave them in the comments section below!
Thank you for following along on our adventure. It's been a ton of fun so far!
