I've made friends with a lovely group of mothers here in Raleigh and have been wanting to do something special for them. I decided an early Mother's Day Celebration would be the perfect thing!
I transformed our library table into a pretty gathering space and served mini quiche, a fresh strawberry cucumber salad and tomato goat cheese tartlets! We sipped pink sparkling wine and finished with chocolate mouse in little vintage espresso mugs.
It was a beautiful morning filled with laughter and great conversation. Here's a peak into our gathering.
SHOP THE LOOK:
I went with a fresh color scheme of natural linen, soft gray and orange. I love the combination of pattern and texture in these dishes.
One of my favorite ways to add drama to a table is with extra tall branches with pretty new leaves on them. These I cut right from our front yard and placed in a simple glass vase as to not be distracting.
When thinking about the menu I started with fresh herbs. Each dish features a different herb which just speak of spring. These tartlets were the start of the day. Basil and garlic bring out the best in heirloom tomatoes and a homemade pie crust makes all the difference.
For all the Mamas out there, I hope you had a beautiful day surrounded by love.
